Project: New 3-storey house on a small block
Work scope : Project management, design (construction drawings, facade design), construction, interior design, landscaping.
Brief: Overcome the constraints of a small sloping 357sqm block to create a modern comfortable size home so suit a young family.
Design: Construction drawings, facade design. The ground floor was devoted to open plan living areas flowing through to an outdoor decking and courtyard with pond. With the block sloping from front to rear, the ground slab stepped in 3 levels while the ceiling remains at one level to create high ceilings at the rear. With the upper level emphasis was on orientation to capture the northern sun and sweeping views over Lake Claremont. Additional living/storage was achieved with a large below ground cellar.
